I posted this poem on my other blog, but thought it would also be appropriate to share it here.

Wondrous fragile mortal thing
Safely hidden in my womb
How you cause my heart to sing
How you make my soul take wing
Freshly woven flesh on loom
Wondrous fragile mortal thing
And yet I feel fear’s harsh sting
Defying whispers from the tomb
How you cause my heart to sing
Joy anew morning will bring
Breaking through these years of gloom
Wondrous fragile mortal thing
To this hope I firmly cling
Resisting dark, fighting doom
How you cause my heart to sing
Here you are now, my offspring
Tender bud about to bloom
Wondrous fragile mortal thing
How you cause my heart to sing
