flash!
snap!
and life is captured
click!
whirr!
and time is frozen
light!
bright!
a memory preserved
shutter!
pop!
never be forgotten
Fallen fort of childhood
My safe place and shelter
Still your whispers beckon me
Your creaking timbers groan my name
I long for the comfort and joy
I felt in your shadow
And all the things
I thought I knew
That never would be shaken
Oh, to fly to simpler days
When love was love and hate was hate
When a toad could be called a frog
And no one cared.

sister’s slippers standing silent
sleeper’s solitude secure
serene stupor seizes smoothly
something sighs softly
sudden shift stirs!
sulking solemn shadows
slink shapeless
sunrise starts shimmering
songbirds sing sweetly
slumber subsides subsequently
