She Tells No Spoken Lies, by Toni L.A. Cross

she laughs and always smiles

so carefully composed

while secretly, she dies

no one sees her graveyard

in still lurking shadows

deceiving carefree eyes

they do not see her pain

a great and looming past

that clouds all inner skies

plain bliss is on display

they think that all is well

she tells no spoken lies

not gettin’ pinched on St. Patty’s… by Toni L.A. Cross

I vainly searched my closet
my need for the irish hue is keen

don’t wanna get pinched
by leprechauns or someone mean

so I scribbled on my hand
a chipper shamrock green

colored it in with marker
to a shiny sheen

must be ever so careful
not to wash it clean

droid, written by Toni L.A. Cross 2/12/10

i’m a droid
a mindless one
do what i should
do what i must

robot girl
that’s me, i say
feel nothing
feel nothing
numbness is gay

i’m a droid
a mindless one
do what i should
do what i must

robot girl
no golden egg to lay
worth nothing
worth nothing
sick of this fake-play

i’m a droid
a mindless one
do what i should
do what i must
